Summary/Abstract: The development of balneology in 19th captured the attention of the situation of Polish Spa Resorts. In areas socalled Galicia (nowadays region in Southeastern Poland and Western Ukraine) there were some well-known Spas, like Krynica or Szczawnica, however medicinal values were not fully used in many other resorts for various reasons. Some of them have been destroyed during World War I, so they could develop only in twenties and thirties of 20th century. It was the situation of two neighbouring Spas, in West Galicia, within the pre-war province of Lviv, Horyniec and Niemirów (now Nemyriw, Ukraine). Niemirów-Zdrój was founded in the early 19th century, Horyniec-Zdrój - in the late of 19th century.
