Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this study is to examine the relationship between Czech national identityand creation of places of memory. Particular goals are the assessment of the present role ofthe Czech national identity, determining the elements of the national identity and the assessmenthow important the building of memorials is nowadays. The study is based on thetheoretical and analytic part. The first part summarizes the general knowledge of the topic.The second part is the analysis of the results of the own research. The quantitative research ofthe public opinion was focused on the Czech national identity and the creation of places ofmemory in Czech Republic.
