Summary/Abstract: Even brief analysis of mobbing research presented by the popular media leads to rational conclusion, that accessible study findings, surveys and opinion polls offer differing or even contradicting data on prevalence rates of mobbing/bullying in Poland. This article describes prevalence rates of organizational aggression as it is presented both by mass media and in national academic journals. The author discusses possible justifications for significant differences in methodological approaches to organizational aggression. Examples of different mobbing operational definitions and measurements are given through referring to the most widely cited research findings in the field.
