Two Books, Two Centuries

Summary/Abstract: Mircea Vasilescu analyzes two recent books. Mircea Anghelescu’s book, “Echilibrul între antiteze. Heliade-o biografie”, it is a reconstruction of historical character Ion Heliade Rădulescu, starting from his facts and ideas, analyzed in the context of XIX century. But the book is more than that: it is an image for the whole century, through its main cultural and social events. Rodica Zafiu’s book, “Diversitate stilistică în româna actuală”, represents a short linguistically history of transition.
