Private Employment Agencies in Turkey through the Perspective of Social Partners Representatives

Summary/Abstract: This study aims to explore the private employment agencies in our country carry out their services effectively or not and to put forward the views of the social partner representatives about what are the effects of legislation related to private employment agencies. In this context, a survey has been conducted on both the administrator of Turkish Employment Agency and the representatives of employer’s and employee’s unions. And their answers’ to the open-ended questions were analyzed by using a content analyzing method. The research results reveal that the social partner representatives think that the private employment agencies are not working effectively and also the employee’s union representatives’ negative opinion against the private employment agencies were found to be stronger and sharper. But it is found that administrators of Turkish Employment Agency and the representatives of employer’s union are more moderate on this issue and they state that these agencies will have positive effects.
