Summary/Abstract: In this research, dedicated to V. Căpitanu, the author presents a novelty discovery from getic settelment of Răcătău. It’s about a clay vessel with an antropomorphic representation. The vessel is reddish, brick-coloured and the paste composition reveals sand and gravel, and also obvious signs of secondary burning both in the exterior and in interior. As decorative elements are noticed in first place an anthropomorphic representation, schematically revealed, framed in a boder made up by intended belts outlined and a double row of impressious. The second row it is kept by bits itself and made up by the same decorative elements framing a set made up by three incised rows that form a motiv in straight angle and having marked corners, probably by a circular impression. The author suppos that the wrole vessel was compartimented in such registres wich revealed scenes that unfortunately can’t be explained. Schematicaly materialized by incision before burning, the anthropomorphic representation has the body revealed by two triangles with opposite tip angles. The head is illustrated by a semicircular line rounded with five or six incision lines. The hands are bended and let the impression as if the were fixed from shoulders. The legs are also schematic, revealed by overturned sticks straightened towards left in an atomic sens. It is noticed the poisture with the “head down” of the figure, provided that the container was used as a lid. The chronologie of the piece dates back from I century a. Chr. to I century p. Chr. From stylistic standpoind the antropomorphic representation has correspondences that goes back to eneolithic. Such representations are to care out a carreer in the first and second European Iron Age in some communities on the outskirts of mediteranean world. The best analogies for our piece are in Stenca Liubcova (district of Caraş-Severin), discovery that is considered to be a solar divinity. There are in debate other discoveries that may be bounded up with the anthropomorphic representation from Răcătău. The author thinks that this may be the representation of a divinity, being hard to tell wrier. A possible suggestion can give the feminin represemntations on scales from Lupu (district of Alba) recently interpretated as “the feminine triada”.
