Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of an analysis of the Polish parliamentary discourse in the years 2009–2015 on Germany, its significance in the European Union and its impact on the premises of Poland’s foreign policy, and the German role in EU. The results of the analysis allow to distinguish two sides of this discourse. The first called “Piast” stresses the need of a close strategic cooperation between Poland and Germany. The other side of this discourse, called “Jagiellonian”, believes that Warsaw should look for allies not in Berlin, but among eastern EU countries. The article presents some selected aspects of Poland’s foreign policy, in which there is a correlation between belonging to one of the two options and representing attitudes in four thematic areas: changes within the EU, eastern policy of the EU, energy and climate policy and security policy.
