Summary/Abstract: Contemporary professional careers are characterized by being dynamic, complex and taking different courses, over which the individual usually has no influence at all. In spite of that, it is the individual that is being perceived as responsible for their planning and development, that is for their “management”. In reference to the issues of the multi-dimensional character of professional careers, determined by both internal and structural factors, this article considers the lack of social orientation towards career, which is to be observed among the representatives of the Y and NEET generations.
