The Oldest Philosophical Jornal in Bulgaria is Celebrating a Remarkable Anniversary

Summary/Abstract: This text is devoted to the 60th anniversary of „Philosophical Thought“ Journal first appearance – one of the lasting theoretical journals in the sphere of humanities in Bulgaria. The article reveals the crucial place and the central role of the issue in the philosophical life in our country. It studies the history of the journal – four main periods could be outlined. These periods are: from the first print copy of „Philosophical Thought“ Journal to the middle 50’s of the last century; from the second half of the 50’s to the end of the 70’s; the 80’s of the 20th century; from the renaming of the journal – Philosophical Thought became Philosophical Alternatives, in 1992 to nowadays. There are analyzed some characteristics of the journal important for each period: a preliminary design of the cover, the main principles in editing, the structure, the selection of authors for each volume, the editorial boards, the regularity of publishing, the total print, etc. The conclusion of the article discusses the chances of „Philosophical Alternatives“ Journal to advance in the future.
