The Effect of Domestic Savings on Economic Growth: The Case of Turkey

Summary/Abstract: In this study, the effect of domestic savings on economic growth was analyzed for 1980-2013 periods in Turkey. Stationary of the series was tested by Augmented Dickey-Fuller (1981) unit root test, it was found that the economic growth and domestic investment series are I(0), series of domestic savings I(1). Existence causality among the series was tested via Toda and Yamamoto (1995), one way causality from economic growth to domestic savings and from domestic investments to economic growth. Between domestic savings and domestic investment has not reached any existence causal.
