Summary/Abstract: In this article the main focus lies on the shadow economy and tax evasion in Poland and other EU member states from 2003 to 2013. The authors introduce the definitions and discuss the size, development and causes of the shadow economy. The data presented in this paper is based on a research conducted by the authors.
