Women's Status in the New Barbarian Kingdoms

Summary/Abstract: The importance of a woman in the Germanic society is reflected especially in rhe laws codes of each people. Even if are some differences, most of the laws gives to the Germanic women, Longobard, Frank or Burgund, the same rights, privileges but in the same time some obligations. The woman’s status is well established by marriage and children. The woman can own a land if she is carefully supervised by her husband and she can inherit her family.
