Summary/Abstract: The present analysis attempts to characterise a certain specific aspect of the image ofGod as reflected in the language of Willibald Omansen as well as to uncover some of thelinguistic mechanisms this German writer employs. Maintained in the general frameworkof lexical semantics, the analysis focuses on the central lexeme God together with itsconnotational frame as well as on the indirectness with which the conceptualisation of God isencoded linguistically, typical of Omansen’s idiolect.
