Reception of the work of Ricarda Huch in Poland

Summary/Abstract: The following article presents the state of research on the reception of the work of the Ger-man female writer Ricarda Huch in Poland. The reception of her work in our country can be examined while analysing: the articles published in the form of a book, bio-grams printed in lexicons and encyclopaedias, presentation of Hutch’s literary work in studies concerning the history of German literature, translations of her poems, the translation of the novel Erinnerungen von Ludolf Ursleu, dem Jüngeren [Memories of Ludolf Ursleu Junior], the award of the prize of Ricarda Huch of Darmstadt town to the Polish writer Hanna Krall, and also the project of the students of German Studies at the University of Opole which propagates the work of R. Huch. Insofar as Ricarda Huch’s output was noted by the Polish researchers of the German literature what is evidenced by the papers dedicated to her literary legacy, still there is no reliable scientific study both on the German and Polish publishing market which wouldembrace comprehensively very diverse Huch’s output and base it in the aesthetic-literary, historical, social and political context.
