Summary/Abstract: The article is an analysis of selected aspects of translation of the book Kwiatki Jana Pawła II[The Little Flowers of John Paul II] – a collection of stories and anecdotes showing the events fromthe life of Karol Wojtyla – Pope John Paul II – into the Russian language. The analysis is undergomanners of evocation of a particular, intended by the addressee effect of communication in a certainsocio-cultural situation in Russia.
