Summary/Abstract: I argue that affirmative action is an important ingredient in the struggle for equality of opportunity. Where women face different obstacles to men (economic and social pressures), the obstacles need to be removed in order for women to obtain equality of opportunity. One way to remove such obstacles is through affirmative action.
