Conceptualization of microfoundations term in management sciences

Summary/Abstract: This paper concentrates on microfoundations, namely antecedents of organizational phenomena which are considered at the individual level. Nowadays, microfoundations are becoming an emergent direction of current research direction in management science. However, even at the very beginning of research efforts the researchers face the problem of conceptualization and definition of microfoundations as they seem to be quite a complex theoretical construct. In this paper we provide sound reasons for focusing on microfoundations in future management research as well as outline a proposition for conceptualization of microfoundations from the perspective of management science.
