Summary/Abstract: The article presents results of studies conducted in enterprises in Poland in 2012. The study involved 346 companies from the Silesian province, including 143 micro, 104 small, 51 medium and 48 large. Among the surveyed enterprises predominated the company declaring the service operations (more than 2/3 of the total number of participants in the study). Other companies, representing 29.1% of the study population, confirmed membership to the manufacturing sector as the main area of its activity.
