Summary/Abstract: This article attempts to present the labor market in the healthcare sector with particular emphasis on the impact of income levels and labor migration on its condition. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) migration of medical personnel may lead to unequal access to healthcare, not only within the country but also on a global scale. This case study analyses the labor market of one of the groups of healthcare professionals: doctors. The material has been prepared on the basis of analyses and reports the Polish Central Statistical Office (GUS), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Polish Chamber of Physicians (NIL), the Polish Ministry of Health.
