Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author describes the role and importance of knowledge and process management in Polish enterprises. After analyzing the study, this process proved to be necessery for the effective build competitive advantage in today’s economic market. Additionally described conditions of the functioning of enterprises in the global market in the twenty-first century and the analysis of the concept of competitiveness in recent years. Also described are identified in the surveyed enterprises barriers and areas of impact of knowledge management systems. Based on analysis of available sources and research results, we can conclude that in such a volatile environment, as today’s environment, knowledge has become a basic element in building a competitive advantage in the market and is an essential factor in achieving success in the marketplace.
