The role of the academia in educating competences needed for future teachers and popularizers of the newst results of scientific research

Summary/Abstract: For development of Poland in the 21st century, there is a need of permanent increase of a number of very well educated specialists in all scientific and technological branches. Nowadays too less number of upper secondary alumnus wants and is well prepared for study at biology, chemistry, geography, physics and all the engineering university departments. Natural interest of small children in scientific phenomena observed in the natural environment disappears too often already at the level of primary school. Some possible ways of counteracting these problems through preparation of future teachers for keeping and developing the natural pupils’ interest in biological, chemical, geographical and physical phenomena as well as making possible for primary, lower and upper secondary school pupils contact with newest results of scientific research are presented.
