Summary/Abstract: In the article was described a significance of the human capital in relating to the history of management studies and the theory of the human capital. Here were described also a public sector and a public health care in the context of evaluation of engagement the medical staff, which in the opinion of the whole of society isn’t satisfactory. The author made also a presentation of chosen preliminary data from research concerning engagement of the staff in one of the public hospitals. For that purpose was used questionnaire survey, concerning all basic occupational groups.
