Summary/Abstract: The direct observation of the objects part of the Dacian hoards in Oradea – Sere and Drăgeşti (Bihor County) provides new data on the production technique of bracelets made of twisted silver bars. The fact that the authors of the discovery in Drăgeşti accidentally broke the bracelet revealed inside the section the presence of a core-rod covered in a metal sheet. The grooving performed before the bar was twisted sectioned the outer sheet’s thickness almost in half, but did not reach the core. The degradation marks on the surface of the bracelet from Oradea – Sere, that was preserved entirely, allow for the identification of the same production technique consisting of a core-rod covered in a metal sheet. In the absence of metallographic analyses I avoided the use of the phrase “lower quality metal core”. Taking into consideration the fact that the employed technique and metallographic analyses performed on other bracelets “with core and facing”, it is possible that the inner rod consists of an alloy based on silver but with a higher concentration of copper.
