Ecological problems and Millennium Development Goals in the light of the sustainable development idea

Summary/Abstract: In the article the authoress introduced the chosen ecological problems of the world. These are: (1) global climatic changes, (2) degradation of the ozone layer, (3) extension of the zone of acid falls, (4) progressive pollution of sea and oceanic waters, (5) degradation and the limitation of the supplies of drinking water, (6) deforestation, (7) deserting, (8) reduction of biodiversity, (9) reduction of non-economical uses of environment (10) degradation of the circumterrestrial space. The authoress analyzed Millennium Development Goals and their relationships with global ecological challenges and the idea of the sustainable development. In the article the authoress did not study relationships between global ecological problems and Agenda of Sustainable Development 2030. This last document confirms the authoress’s observations relating to insufficient regard of the sustainable development idea and the problems of the global natural environment in the Millennium Development Goals.
