Summary/Abstract: The organisation of space by an individual, a group, a nation corresponds to an elementary need for territorialisation and, indeed, territoriality. Can we live without relationship with the territory? The delimitation is a component of appropriation with the means that every historical epoch, every power has at its disposal, the objectifying cartographic representation having arrived very late in history.
