Summary/Abstract: Funeral and commemorative practices of the population of the Republic of Moldova are presented in thearticle in an essayistic form. They are analyzed based onempirical materials collected according to a questionnaire specially developed for this purpose. Special attention isreserved to the specifics of the name of the custom among Lipovans (Old Russian believers).
