How to pass on faith to young people nowadays?

Summary/Abstract: In 2016 a study was conducted concerning the ways in which young persons spend their free time, their interests, faith, participation in religious practices as well as expectations concerning youth ministry. A qualitative and quantitative analysis was presented together with conclusions and pastoral postulates. Ministry is founded on well thought-out and organised Sunday masses for adolescents. Good solutions include open meetings, theme based meetings and discussions organised for teenagers in a parish. A good, but not frequently applied, practice is organisation of summer camps, as well as trips and youth pilgrimages under the supervision of clergymen and lay persons cooperating with them. Being among peers focused on discovering the same values has an exceptionally positive influence on development of faith in young people. If we want to see teenagers in the church today, and we would like to see adult persons there in the future, we need to look for new solutions and approach them with an invitation and a specific offer.
