Summary/Abstract: Progress in the development of information and communication technologies leads to significant changes in the socio-economic system. Thanks to the revolution in the field of storage, processing and transmission of information, today we use the concepts of information society or knowledge-based economy to refer to or describe socio-economic system. Knowledge-based economy is characterized by extensive use of knowledge and information. This poses serious challenges in the field of digital skills, as these are becoming more desirable in the labour market but also increasingly necessary in everyday life. Lack of these skills, their inadequate level or mismatch are detrimental to economic growth.
