Summary/Abstract: The paper places Gheorghe Ucenescu in the context of Romanian Christian music dominated by Anton Pann and Macarie the Hieromonk – personalities with a strong and direct influence on the religious singer of the great cathedral in Braşov. The complex cultural relationship between Ucenescu and Anton Pann requires a special chapter focusing on the extent of the influence that the great musician had on Ucenescu. It is necessary to provide a context for all the data deriving from previous research and from personal research, conducted at the Museum of the First Romanian School, of the manuscripts in the custody of Saint Nicholas Church in Scheii Braşovului, under the direct guidance of Prof. Ioan Olteanu.
