Summary/Abstract: Work is under way on the new version of the national security strategy. In Poland, similarly to many Western states, documents of this type are drafted every few years as a response to new security circumstances, and are sometimes triggered off by new political concepts brought by the governments currently in power. This strategy will be the fourth one for Poland, excluding the document of February 1990, signed by President Wojciech Jaruzelski and drafted by his office. The first fully-fledged presentation of the security policy of the new Poland was a document consisting of two parts (Principles and Strategy), signed by President Lech Walesa in November 1992.
