Summary/Abstract: The situation in the country and leading to various forms of opposition. The purpose of research is to study the nature of key social and economic problems. Theory and methodology of work was based on the Ukraine’s legislative acts, printed periodical materials and Internet resources. The results of research. It is determined that the main source of majority social and economic problems is a clan-oligarchic model of the Ukrainian development that ensured a high level of distrust in Ukrainian society to power through impressive social injustice. Practical implications.Organizing and carrying out research in the sphere of social and economic security. Conclusions. Social and economic problems have always been, are and will be the motive forces of progress, because society constantly intensify to the struggle for social rights; government agencies, at all levels to ensure its own right to power, should use more flexible methods to solve social problems. Considering the clan-oligarchic model of the state that is a threat to the formation of double-pole closed society, it is should noted that today there is search of the way transition to an open society with a massive and influential «middle class», which is regarded as the social basis of pluralism and democracy and creates conditions for self-actualization of a person, and also is a guarantee for stabilization of economic process and the preservation of state sovereignty.
