Summary/Abstract: The trilingual dictionary (in preparation) is the first one comparing Polish, Bulgarian and Russian languages. The project is set within the framework of contemporary research on semantics and linguistic confrontation and takes into account a semantic-oriented language – mediator proposed in the multi-volume {Bulgarian-Polish contrastive grammar} [‘Gramatyka konfrontatywna bułgarsko-polska’]. The entries are described with the use of classic and semantic classifiers, for example a perfective verb is characterized with the semantic classifier event, while the imperfective form with semantic classifier state. The trilingual dictionary will present a consistent and homogeneous set of facts of grammar and semantics. Separation of form from meaning enables us to show the languages (Polish, Bulgarian, Russian) in order chosen by the user. It is however also the source of many difficulties in preparing language material for the dictionary – hence the title of the article.
