Summary/Abstract: This study analyses railway transport sector as a conceptual view point. Accordingly; history of railway transportation, development of railway transportation, built-up projects and the current problems of Turkish railway transportation as well as solving proposals were discussed, Swot analysis is a strategic value was made to identify oppurtunities and threats arising from the internal and external enviroment.
