Summary/Abstract: According to directive 75/117/EEC, Poland is obliged to implement policies to prevent discrimination against women in the labour market. One of the aspects unequal pay for work of equal value. Therefore it’s important to decompose the differences into caused by heterogeneous productivity characteristics, differences in preferences and pure discrimination. Assuming preferences stable over time, the impact of career preferences on the differences in pay between men and women in Poland was analysed.
