A DIFFERENT VIEW OVER CITY AND STRESS: FIELD SURVEY AND RESULTS ON ADMINISTRATIVE STRESS OBSERVED ON KAIMAKAM (DISTRICT GOVERNOR)

Summary/Abstract: One of the main parameters of the city oriented politics and administration in Turkey is kaimakam and the other administrative chiefs. In this study it has been worked for to put forward the situation of the kaimakams in Turkey in the context of “Administrator and Stress” –without ignoring the global trends but especially in terms of personal development, organization and environmental relationships and being successful-. It has been emphasized that the impacts and results of “stress” which is an important fact of the modern life as well, on kaimakams. The relationships between “stress” and “organization and administrator” have been discussed by keeping in mind that the kaimakams are administrators. To understand the stress better which effects directly or indirectly kaimakams, it has been given place to evaluation of the results of the researches on the manager who took place in other fields. The development of the administrative thought in Turkey and public relationships have been shortly mentioned. After the theoretical study, the work has been continued with field survey. The field survey’s title is “A Field Survey on Stress Level of the Kaimakams in Turkey”. Survey results have been researched on forming frequency lists and cross charts. A future vision has been developed for Kaimakams as city managers and has been presented as a new approach for the stress management.
