Summary/Abstract: Long-term unemployment is an undesirable phenomenon. It was noticed that the knowledge of a long-term unemployed person is becoming outdated and his skills and self-esteem are decreasing. This paper examines the long-term unemployed in the county Sulęcin, taking into consideration their gender, education, work experience, duration of unemployment and age. The study was preceded by the demographic analysis of the county. The period covered by the study was 2007–2011. As the result of the analysis it was possible to identify the groups of people for whom the risk of long-term unemployment is the highest.
