Summary/Abstract: The text said the late appearance of the ulgarian language (2013), the novel by the English writer Evelyn Waugh „Scoop” that back in 1938, ten years before the release of „1984” Orwell (1948) managed to predict and describe in the spirit of total literature arody the era of „media imperialism”. What is the relationship between fact and fiction in contemporary journalistic practice? How fictional news story can actually cause a coup, revolution, even war? In vaudeville absurd world of the novel Waugh answers are given in hypertrophied form. Novel story plays out on the eve of World War II, in the wake of the imposition of the new all- powerful news media and television long before the birth of the global network.
