Summary/Abstract: The author considers international words as universal conceptual meanings or universal linguocultural concepts and describes foreign linguistic theories relating to the units of this type. It is demonstrated that the idea of Anna Wierzbicka about development of the universal metalanguage formed of fundamental concepts and clear to all people in the world is very important for the analysis of international words. It is stated, that for this purpose it is necessary to reveal the system of archisemes/primitives.
