Summary/Abstract: It is known that Arab alphabet was common letter for Islamic world. But after a certain time it is observed that it does not fit to the Turkish language. With spread of education at 19, century teaching of Arabic script Turkish children emerged challenges. Preparing newspaper in Arabic was difficult, has been noticed that the letter string works very delayed. For these reasons, set of ideas like improvement of the Arabic alphabet or transition to the Latin alphabet have been proposed. Learning of ideological past of Turkey’s letter revolution has great importance. Some intellectuals defended that Arab letters has to be improved. Some of them defended that instead of improvement, it will be better to shift to the Latin alphabet. One of proponents of this idea was Mirza Fatali Akhundov.
