Summary/Abstract: Turkish Revolution reformed under the leadership of Atatürk in Turkey was far reaching than the French and Bolshevik revolutions. Because, Turkish Revolution aimed to change all of the institutions of the society not only the political institutions. The most important of part of this change is the changes made in the socio-cultural area. While Atatürk was making these changes, he wanted to develop our cultural values through mentality and method not imitating the western culture that was adopted superior as in political reform period (Tanzimat). In this brief study, intellectual foundations of the socio-cultural changes carried out in the Atatürk period have been explained.
