Summary/Abstract: Alparslan Açıkgenç examines the emergence, progress and spread of Islamic Sciences through his theory named “worldview”. Before he tell the historical process he puts forward his theory of worldview. He defines knowledge in general as the all contents of mind in the natural process of the worldview theory. The knowledge in general turns into scientific knowledge by a scientific method in its historical process. Thus method is the key concept that identifies the characteristics of a science in this transformation. The general knowledge by the use of method transforms first into scientific knowledge than becomes a science. This transformation process is called as scientific process. Açıkgenç tries to identify the emergence and collapse of three civilizations that he assumed through this scientific process.
