Summary/Abstract: The subject of the study was the analysis of the level of organic farming in the EU countries using such characteristics as: the average size of organic crops, these crops area per 1,000 inhabitants, share of this area in total utilized agricultural area, value of retail sales for these crops per 1000 ha and the annual amount of money spent on organic food per capita. It was created the ranking of countries using selected methods of linear ordering set of objects. The results of analysis indicate, that the higher ranking positions are occupied with countries with a higher level of economic development.
