Summary/Abstract: Conventions, in any field, and especially in the economic one, provide the legal basis to the ethical principles to which the parties are assumed to adhere, namely: the mutual trust of the parties, the mutual benefits and risks, certainty in negotiation, fulfillment of the obligations assumed and observance of the commitments. Deception in conventions violates, expressly or implicitly, the principles on which conventions rely. Initially regarded as a civil offence, it was criminalized as an offence against property lately, in modern legislation.
