Summary/Abstract: Diversity of level of social development in Poland on the local level is much higher than between regions. Correct measurement requires the use of suitable measurers. One of the most common measures used to assess the level of social development is Human Development Index and Local Human Development Index. The aim of the paper is the assessment of level of social development on the local level. There was used the synthetic variable, with indicators for: health, education and wealth as well as health expenditures index, educational expenditures index and local expense index. The construction of synthetic measure based on the median Weber.
