Summary/Abstract: The following work relates to five woodcuts from the Museum of King Jan III`s Palace at Wilanów collection. The prints are examples of the Chinese folk art known as “New Year Pictures” (nianhua), and they originated in The Rising Sun workshop of Dai family. The article presents the history of the prints and a history of the room in which the prints were exhibited. The topic of New Year Pictures and their content are analyzed in detail.
