Summary/Abstract: In the middle of 20th century it was already spoken about nasalization in Lithuanian linguistics. Even then it was noticed that vowels which appear near nasal consonants [m], [n] are being characterised by different articulation type and maybe by other quality and quantity aspects. But there were no deep researches done before. Notices and conclusions were made only by hearing the sound. That is the purpose of this paper – it is one of the first attempts to find out the effect of nasalization in Lithuania generic language of long back vowels [a·], [o·], [u·] by experimantal research. The research data shows that quality and quantity of nasalized and non-nasalized vowels differ a lot.
