Summary/Abstract: Promotion of international cooperation between the regions, establishment of a favorable investment climate, and cooperation with foreign partners while implementing large-scale joint projects are considered with regard to the Republic of Tatarstan. The role of regional authorities in motivating and supporting the participants of international affairs is discussed. The need for further improvement of institutions responsible for the coordination of international and foreign economic cooperation is emphasized. The problems of practical implementation of the procedures for interaction between the subjects of the Russian Federation and the federal authorities in particular areas of international cooperation are analyzed.
