Summary/Abstract: Every year, climate change is gaining momentum. Therefore, now action should be taken that will allow the economy to adapt to both society and the environment to the new reality. Conscious management of weather risk is inherent in the adaptation measures to climate change, as evidenced by the development of market risk transfer instruments weather and the emergence of new security tools, such as weather derivatives. The purpose of this article is to present information on the various countries’ forms of hedging against weather risk and their evaluation for possible transfer of these practices on the ground of the Polish economy. No possibility of using weather derivatives, and not to extend the use of weather insurance in Poland leads to keep the recorded years the state in which the company does not have any influence on the results achieved, the extent to which their instability is directly related to the variability of the weather.
