Summary/Abstract: The article examines the cognitive states of students, arising in the process of performing the Amthauer intelligence test. According to the results of a factor analysis, the authors specify ten factors underlying the structure of a typical cognitive state – interest. The key factor of this state is described, which is an attitude to intellectual activity in terms of the general conceptual orientation of the subject.
