Summary/Abstract: For Artur Gorovei (1864-1951) – folklorist, writer, lawyer, honorary member of the Romanian Academy – his family history has been a constant concern for about six decades. In 1914, at the end of the first stage of his research, he wrote Notes on the Gorovei Family. Only a part of this unpublished work kept its documentary value: the chapters about the direct predecessors of the author, namely his grandfather (Ioan Gorovei, 1783-1848) and his father (Petru I. Gorovei, 1831-1889). They see the light of print here.
